Effects of Rapid Weight Loss following Iron Supplementation on Bone Mineral Density and Serum Osteocalcin Levels in University Wrestlers

This experiment is designed for bone health in wrestlers and martial arts athletes who lose weight with Rapid Weight Loss (RWL). To clarify the effect of iron intake on relationship between loss densityFor using RWL strategy, was observed mineral density (BMD), serum osteocalcin (OC) level, marker. study conducted 23 (13 males 10 females). It divided into trial 1 (iron loss) 2 (only loss). In addition, first second experiments, a washout period given 3 weeks} order to eliminate medicinal effect. All measurements were performed same group. However, OC levels reduced following RWL. case males, group after demonstrated significant increase BMD (p<0.05). Correlation analysis data male showed correlations contents (p<0.05), total TIBC(total binding capacity) transferrin concentrations female group, (p<0.01), (p<0.01) correlations. ferritin TIBC (p<0.05) shown have some degree correlation global evaluations.
